Statutory Review of Polling Districts and Places 2024
Under the Electoral Administration Act 2006, the District Council is carrying out a review of Parliamentary polling districts and places, the opportunity is also being taken to review the polling stations.
Please note that this is not a review of the parish boundaries. this process is to review the polling places for each polling district within parishes.

Notice of Annual Residents Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the Annual Residents Meeting will be held on Tuesday 12th March 2024 The meeting will be held from 6.45pm to 7.00pm at Hemerdon Village Hall.
The Agenda will include reports from the Chairman of the Parish Council, County and District Councillors and an opportunity to discuss local issues and public question time.

Tungsten West Planning Application
County Matter Planning Application Variation of Condition 19 of planning permission 9/42/49/0542/85/3 (DCC/3823/2015) (dated 16 February 2017) to remove weekly and annual tonnage caps on the export of secondary aggregates and to amend the condition to introduce restrictions on hours of export and prohibit exports at the weekend and on bank holidays at Hemerdon Mine, Devon, PL7 5BS
Sparkwell Parish Council, like many of you, have been sent or have seen the above planning application for comment.
Devon County Council have given a short window of time for us to consult with our Parishioners and make appropriate comments on the application. Therefore, we have applied for an extension. We have been informed that despite the deadline for comments being Friday 13th October 2023, comments will be accepted by DCC up until the determination date, which is approximately December 2023. We will inform you of the official date of determination when we receive it.
Sparkwell Parish Council will be fighting this and, as with the previous application by Tungsten West to increase the amount of lorry movements (which was consequently withdrawn), we will provide as much information as we can throughout.
An Objection Form can be found below to aid any parishioners with their comments. This can be posted to Susan Penaluna at Devon County Council, Topsham Road, Exeter, Devon, EX2 4QD or scanned in and emailed to me at sparkwellclerk@gmail.com. I will then submit it.
